Q. Any last thing you’d like to say.
During this interview, you asked me how to be a math teacher and the effort I made
in math. However, I don’t think I’ve ever done anything special to be a math teacher. I
studied math just because I liked it and was better at it than Korean and English. Life
doesn’t always work out according to your plan. Keep doing what you like, and keep
doing what you’re doing.
Q. What is the charming point of France and French?
May you guys feel the charming sides of France by yourself! I hope you all can explain
your own feelings about the colors of France to me! I recommend everyone takes a
trip to the South of France.
Q. How did France deal with COVID-19?
I don't think they’ve done as well as Korea has. They made wearing mask in public
places mandatory, but hundreds of patients are diagnosed every day and thousands of
patients every weekend. Due to their struggling economy, they ended their lockdown
and schools began again. I'm worried about that.
Q. What is your favorite phrase in French?
“La chance sourit aux audacieux!” It means fortune favors the bold. When you want
to take a step back or aren’t sure about doing something because you don’t think you
can do it or feel some fear, I hope you try to be a brave person. When I face situations
like that, I do not mumble! “Sois audacieuse!”
Q. Please tell us the reason why we need to go France.
Just go!
Q. Would you recommend some French books to us?
Recommendation lists are everywhere. I love the novels written by Milan Kundera. I
would recommend his book “La Lenteur”. It may show you his unique way of thinking.
Also, I’d recommend 시크하다 (Chic) by Seung Yeon Cho because he is my favorite
writer these days (He laughs). It’ll help you understand the French mood, culture and
characteristics in a different way.
