Police officers protect the liberty and rights of citizens and maintain public order. Police officers
prevent crime for the liberty and rights of citizens, investigate crime when it happens, guard and
protect important figures, carry out counterespionage operations, collect security data, write
and distribute tickets, enforce traffic laws, prevent injury, and maintain public order.
A police officer's work differs by department. The police administration division takes charge of
administrative work like an administrative office in a school. The internal investigation department
deals with improving and disciplining police officers when the police officers are unfriendly
to civilians or when the officers conduct biased investigations. The criminal investigation
department find criminals when people call to report a crime. The criminal department makes
arrests or investigates cases of physical assault, verbal assault, kidnapping, theft, and so on.
The department of transportation imposes penalties on drivers who do not obey speeding and
traffic rules, arranges traffic control systems, and manages roadside traffic signs and signal
systems. The department of information security has three sections: information, security,
and external affairs. The information section solves and investigates general happening and
problems in politics, the economy, and society for national security purposes. The security
section focuses on North Korea by doing things like checking for spies in our country and
looking after North Korean defectors. The external affairs section handles foreign criminals. In
the life safety department, when people call 112 to report an accident, they send the police to
the very spot where the accident took place, solve citizen problems, patrol, and prevent crime
for local residents. The public service center of the police issues accusations, renew driver's
licenses, and suspend licenses.
