There is a 52% chance that the FDA-approved vaccine will be distributed in the United
States from October 2020 to March 2021, with Moderna or Pfizer leading the way. The
expected launch and distribution of their vaccines has advanced since mid-July, but the
release is pending due to rising concerns over side effects of the leading vaccines. The

probability that vaccines will be distributed in the United States at least by September
2021 is 89%.

The Development of COVID-19 Vaccines in Korea

The Korean government has decided to actively support domestic companies' clinical
trials with the aim of developing new COVID-19 treatments this year and vaccines by
next year. The government held a meeting of the pan-government support committee on
the development of COVID-19 treatments and vaccines on the 30th, discussing ways to
support the clinical trials of COVID-19 treatments and vaccines and the current status and
plans for the introduction of foreign vaccines. Currently, the biggest difficulty for companies
is recruiting participants for clinical trials. This is the result of the stable suppression of

the COVID-19 incident in Korea compared to other countries. Local medical centers and
life-therapy centers where patients are located lack experience for clinical trials, though
