oldest beauty YouTubers, by letting her try out Lotte
Home Shopping's exclusive beauty products such
as ampoules2) and freckle3) creams and introduce
her honest evaluations. Park has some 960,000
subscribers and is a star YouTuber with 1 million views on each
video, running her channel called Grandma's Diary. A company manager said, "Unpopular products
often sell out immediately when they are used by famous beauty YouTubers." This example shows that
beauty YouTubers, just one type of influencer, are having a huge impact on sales and company growth.
However, influencer marketing requires a new
perspective from consumers. Influencer marketing is a
kind of viral marketing that uses influencers to promote
products or services. Considering that viral marketing
can contain quickly spread false information, consumers
need to be able to evaluate information objectively. In
other words, a critical and wise perspective is needed in
regards to products and advertisements, not unlimited
trust of influencers.

strategy that targets the trends of our one-person
media era. Influencers have all the influence these
days. When consumers have a smart view of influencer
marketing, this strategy can act as a trendy and useful
marketing tool for companies.
