                    The must-visit places in our

                                  country in autumn

                                                                                           10212 You, Ji-hye

2020 is the year when people had to stay inside because of the COVID-19 virus. In the
case of people who have to leave home for their jobs, such as couriers and delivery drivers,
income has actually increased. But Korea's tourism industry, including flights, hotels, and
package tours, has shrunk. This includes other jobs that help people from various places
meet, such as flight attendants, pilots, and travel guides. Many people couldn't leave their
houses in 2020, so they must miss taking trips. Now, the streets are empty when they should
be crowded with people going on autumn color sightseeing trips. If it wasn't for COVID-19,
what would have been the most popular and pretty travel destination in the fall of November
                 2020?
                              Baekma River

The first destination is the Baekma River. It is located in Buyeo-gun,
Chungcheongnam-do, and the name carries the meaning that it is the
largest river in Baekje. In the summer, the National Sports Festival
is held there, while in the fall, cosmos flower gardens and silver
grass fields are the most popular attractions for people to visit.
At the same time, one of the things that attracts people’s
attention in the fall is the Baekmagang road. It is a famous
place for a day trip on a sunny day or a place to stay the
                                                     night.

                                                       Paju Byeokchojisu Arboretum

The second destination is Paju’s Byeokchojisu
Arboretum. It is said to have beautiful gardens from
both the East and the West. Built around the themes
                                                      of excitement, mythology, adventure, freedom,
contemplation, and emotion, 26 beautiful gardens are
displayed for visitors, holding more than one thousand
different kinds of plants. If you walk along the road, you
will find a quince tree that many can't tell whether it is
a single tree or two planted together. The two trees have
different roots, but they look like one with their branches
tangled together like two inseparable lovers. Couples constantly
visit this place, calling it the “Tree of Love.” Admission is 9,000
won for adults and 7,000 won for teenagers.
