The Fires of BMW

On the highway in Incheon, one BMW sedan went on fire until it was
extinguished about 20 minutes at 12:10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23th, 2018.
Due to similar incidents around Korea, BMW Korea decided to begin a recall
of cars. The growing anxiety among customers after the announcement
of the recall led the company the recall process as soon as possible. BMW
Korea said that the diagnosis of BMW car would take about an hour and, if a
component would be found to be faulty, the replacement operation would be
carried out immediately and take about three hours.
According to BMW Korea, the customer service call centers and 61 service
centers nationwide started working around the clock including on weekends.
"I sincerely apologize to customers who are anxious about this recall," BMW
Korea Chairman Hyo-joon Kim said. "We will complete the safety diagnosis
of all cars within two weeks to resolve the customer problems and complete
the recall process early."
But, internet comments have begun saying, "경유, 휘발유, and 비엠더블유(Gas,
Diesel, or a BMW). Which will catch fire next?" Like this, BMW's credibility is
declining in Korea.
