students were divided in three: the

them and the 3rd graders.

After lunch, the students gathered
in the school yard, and several games
such as the seven-legged race4) and
a relay race were carried out.

The seven-legged race was a
game in which six players put their
feet into six hoops and ran around
a halfway5) point together. In the
beginning, players fell and did
not do so well. Later though, the
teams’ got used to the movement,
and everyone got faster. After
the seven-legged race was over,
we had a relay race to close the
day. Everyone ran hard in the hot
sun. With that done, the athletic
competition was over. During the
closing ceremony, prizes were given
to each of the winning classes.
