In fact, an Israeli research team successfully
created an artificial heart with cells and blood
vessels using a 3D printer. This artificial heart
was made from various bio-inks based on living
cells. Therefore, it could be used by many
people because the risk of rejection by the
immune system6) is very low. The Israeli research
team expect the artificial heart to be a major
breakthrough in medical development. However, it
is hard to perfectly create an artificial organ that
works like a real organ and transplant it in a person’
s body. But, if research continues, many people will
be able to live longer thanks to it.

Like these two examples, there have been many
developments in bio-printing technology. Many
people hope that this technology will develop
sufficiently to help people maintain their health
and ensure longevity. Let's look forward to the
development of bio-printing technology in our
lifetime.
