The Pros and Cons of Lunch Time
Changes and New Facilities

In 2019, Myeong-shin Girls' High School underwent some major changes. One of them was to build a
student council room and a career path room on the first and second floors of the Sinui-gwan1). As a result,
some of the 2nd and 3rd grade students in Sinui-gwan had to change the locations of their classrooms. The
other change was a new lunch time. Until last year, students had lunch at 12:50 after 4th period, but, from
this year, students eat lunch at 11:50. As the lunch hour changed, students and teachers studying and
working at Myeong-shin Girls' High School had to adapt to the new changes and weigh the good versus
the bad. The newspaper club surveyed students and teachers at Myeong-shin Girls' High School to see
what they thought of these changes. The survey was conducted on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 during
the new lunch hour. During break times from September 4th to 6th, club members also went directly to the
teachers to conduct the survey.
